WordPress 2.6

Holy moly. I’ve only juuust upgraded WordPress on my other blog, and now 2.6 is out! Well, that’s swell but their servers seem to be in a bit of a fix. Good thing I got to download 2.6 just before they went down. Lots of people must be excited, huh? (Yes, that includes me.)
Great job to the WP team for pushing out an early release!
I’m really liking three things from this release:
- Plugin updates! That little outdated plugin notifier as well as better plugin management page is a sure win.
- Post revisions! I’ve been growing more and more in love with version control systems, be it good ol’ CVS or Bazaar. To see it in WP is great. It’s set to be used often for me, that’s for sure.
- Word count! It’s not completely real-time (you have to stop typing and wait a while to see it update; it is set to count after a set time?) but it’s fabulous. NaNoWriMo anyone?
I’m off to continue upgrading Seasonal Plume!
